Jan trained as a Registered nurse in 1982 and became a Registered Health visitor in 2005. She worked in health visiting teams in Bristol working with families for 19 years. Her work included working with families with complex needs.  Jan is married, a parent to three grown up daughters and has four grandchildren.  Jan is passionate about  families and has been involved in supporting parents for many years setting up a toddler group and running parenting courses in schools.  She is actively involved with serving in her local church, Resound, leading and facilitating groups. In 2012 when Resound relocated to a new building, Jan initiated and developed Resound Family Resource Team and, with the help of wonderful volunteers, offered Care for the Family Parenting courses, Hot Topics sessions and Parent Buddies to local families. Between 2013 – 2018 Jan and Jayne Groves were employed by Resound to continue to develop the work with families, and in May 2018 left employment in Resound to develop Parent Buddies Charity.




Jayne qualified with a BEd in 1990 and taught in primary, secondary and adult education until she was employed by a national user-led voluntary organisation. Her role was to develop a support network for young disabled people which involved recruiting, training and managing volunteers for the purpose of providing support, information, and signposting for other young disabled people. Jayne spent 2 years as a Training Services Manager, delivering personal development and self-management training for disabled people. Jayne served on her church leadership team for 6 years. In 2014 Jayne was employed by Resound, joining Jan Harvey to help develop resources for parents, including Parent Buddies.Jayne’s main passion in life - apart from her husband and 2 beautiful children, is to make the most of the potential that we all have to be empowered and transformed – it is wonderful to witness and experience small changes that can make a big difference in our lives.
